Having read only pages 9-23 (Biology Topics 1 and 2), I think this rather crude GCSE Science Course Companion (not specified) and a bad companion, if it is your understanding for success in the GCSE Science Guide. For example, a number of topics missing or poor communication requirements of the species.
In B1a1, there is a lack of topics: computer models (1.6) as fossils in the evolution (1.8), compared to selective breeding andKing genetic evolution of a species (1.9); principles of classification, five kingdoms, five groups of vertebrates, etc. (1.11), farming (1.12) and genetic modification of crops (1.13).
(Perhaps it is better to simply downloading the Spec site Edexcel because then at least you know what he should do the course: It is cheaper.)
Also, many statements and questions, "naff", such as page 14: "Euglena is an animal"(But it is a protistan been for a century or so, and is a protoctistan for about 40 years ... and Protoctista one of the five kingdoms in specific applications, and (I think) during the hearings.
